Utilize an Existing Brine

1) Buy some cucumbers, English or the mini cucumbers I’ve found work best and cut them to the size of pickle you want. If you have a garden you can absolutely use cucumbers from your garden! (we had a batch of cukes one year that were a little tart and this saved them!)

2) Add cucumbers to your leftover pickle brine and shake every couple days for 7-10 days. After that enjoy!

I’ve done this with the Klaussen and Vlasic brands so far and they turned out great! 

Make Refrigerator Bread & Butter Pickles

Preparation

Utensils Required

Measuring cups/spoons
Two quart glass container with lid
Spoon (for stirring)

Ingredients
2 Cups Sugar
1/4 Cup Salt
2 Cups White Vinegar
3/4 tsp Celery Seed
3/4 tsp Mustard Meed
3/4 tsp Turmeric
1-2 Onions, thinly sliced
4-5 Cucumbers

1) In jar, mix together all ingredients except onions & cucumbers.

2) Add onion and cucumber slices, put the lid on, give it a shake and refrigerate.

3) Leave set for 7-10 days in the fridge, shaking gently every 1-2 days. After that, enjoy!
